A learning disabled child is not just someone who is having a difficult time in the classroom. Learning disabilities are neurologically based disorders that affect the brain’s ability to receive,  process and retrieve information. Learning disabled children often have average to very superior intelligence, yet their achievements hardly approach their innate potentials. They learn differently from other children. The more that a teacher knows about learning disabilities, the better he will be able to teach the struggling students in his classroom. The more that a parent knows about learning disabilities, the better he will be able to advocate for his child.
