Children with dyslexia and other learning disabilities are bright and capable, but they often require specialized instruction to access learning successfully. Without appropriate identification and intervention, their difficulties can lead to years of academic frustration, diminished confidence, and the mistaken belief that they are incapable of succeeding.

The Kol Koreh Bernard Silverstein Learning Center provides comprehensive educational testing, early identification, individualized intervention, and educational support for students with dyslexia and other learning disabilities. By understanding each child’s unique strengths and needs, we help students develop essential academic skills, experience meaningful success, and become more confident and independent learners.

The Center provides on-site services during and after school hours and serves students from schools and communities throughout Israel.

Student Educational Testing Services

A comprehensive educational evaluation is an important first step toward understanding why a child is struggling and determining what support will be most effective.

Kol Koreh’s specialized evaluator conducts in-depth educational evaluations designed to identify each student’s strengths, weaknesses, and specific learning needs. Our diagnostic process extends beyond identifying a difficulty. We help families understand the findings and use them to guide the student toward appropriate intervention, educational support, and accommodations.

Rinat R. Green, PsyD, Kol Koreh’s founder and executive director and a licensed clinical psychologist, completes our multidisciplinary diagnostic team. This comprehensive approach allows us to consider not only a student’s academic performance, but also the broader factors that may be affecting the child’s learning, confidence, and emotional well-being.

Early Identification Services

The earlier a learning difficulty is recognized, the sooner a child can receive effective support. Early identification makes it possible to begin appropriate, evidence-based intervention before the child experiences years of academic frustration, repeated failure, and diminished confidence.

It also allows intervention to begin when the developing brain has greater neuroplasticity, the capacity to form and strengthen new neural pathways. During this critical period, targeted instruction can help children build and solidify foundational skills more effectively, creating a stronger basis for future learning. Early identification also enables families and educators to better understand the child’s needs and provide the right support at a stage when it can have a significant and lasting impact on the child’s academic development.

Individualized, Evidence-Based Intervention

The Kol Koreh Bernard Silverstein Learning Center provides individualized educational intervention based on each student’s particular learning profile. Instruction is carefully structured to help students develop and strengthen the foundational skills they need for academic success.

Our educational professionals use evidence-based methods and adapt instruction according to each child’s abilities, challenges, pace, and progress. Services address essential areas of learning, including reading, decoding, fluency, comprehension, spelling, writing, vocabulary, and mathematics. Students can also receive individualized support in additional academic subjects, including Limudei Kodesh (Jewish studies), when learning difficulties affect their ability to understand and master the material.

By breaking challenging skills and subject matter into clear, manageable steps and providing targeted instruction and practice, we help students make meaningful progress, access the broader curriculum, and apply what they have learned with increasing confidence and independence.

Academic and Confidence-Building Support

For many struggling students, academic difficulties affect far more than their schoolwork. Repeated frustration can lead children to question their intelligence, lose motivation, avoid challenges, or believe that they will never succeed.

At the Kol Koreh Bernard Silverstein Learning Center, we address both academic development and the child’s confidence as a learner. Through individualized support, encouragement, and positive learning experiences, students begin to understand that their difficulties do not define their abilities.
